Upgraded Ramen Noodles

Updated: Jun 2, 2023

Almost everyone has eaten ramen at least sometime in their life. But the classic ramen flavor can get a bit boring. That's why I've created these upgraded ramen noodles! These can be made for a lunch for a school day or whatever other meal you like! This recipe is a big enough for a small serving for two or one big serving with enough for a bit of leftovers.

*Disclaimer: For this recipe, I didn't use any measurements. You can just eye it and put as much of an ingredient as you like!*

Step 1: Boil Chicken Broth. The chicken broth gives the noodles an extra kick of flavor that water just doesn't add.

Step 2: Chop up some meat. Or any vegetarian alternative. You can use dinner leftovers like turkey, chicken, beef, pork, tofu, etc. Make sure you chop it into small cubes.

Step 3: Heat up the meat/vegetarian alternative. We will add them into the noodles later on but this will make sure that the meat is thoroughly heated. I heated mine up for 1 minute but 30 seconds will also work.

Step 4: Once the broth is boiled, add the ramen noodles. I split mine up into two pieces. If you prefer longer noodles, leave them whole or break it into two pieces. If you like smaller noodles, break them into three or more pieces.

Step 5: Chop up some leftover vegetables. Here I used a leftover ear of corn. You could use carrots, spinach, broccoli, etc. Make sure you chop these up into nice and small pieces so that you can stir it into the ramen easily.

Step 6: Heat up the vegetables for 30 seconds. Once again, we are doing this to make sure that the vegetables' are heated up thoroughly.

Step 7: Once the noodles have softened, add the seasoning packet included in your ramen. Mine was chicken flavor!

Step 8: Add butter. The butter makes it creamy and taste wayyyyy better in my opinion.

Step 9: Add corn and meat.

Step 10: Optional Add frozen greens. I know, i know. Greens!? Ramen is comfort food not healthy food! Well, the greens add a little something to the ramen. You don't really taste it much so it also acts as a garnish. Make sure to stir afterwards!

Step 11: Add cheddar cheese. I know, another shocking ingredient. But trust me on this one, it tastes soooo good in ramen. Just do it. Do it. DO IT!

Step 12: Final mix! That's right guys! We're done! Enjoy and bon appetit!
